How much light spills out from under the reflector to charge the GID pool?

More like the exact opposite. The heat is to melt the locking compound. If you let it cool back down it will still be locked :)

I would be interrested if there were a zero force method, like chemical. I believe it has been mentionned that Acetone can help, but I don't know if it can unlock the compound alone, and whether it will alter the metal and finish :huh:

I noticed tad gear stocks those tailcaps :) Ok mac thanks for the info, that stuff is tough, 350 degree hot aluminum with very little grip surface, what did you use to loosen it after the heat?

So I would'nt scratch the bezel I put a couple pieced of tape in where the slots are and used a large pair of snap ring plyers to unscrew the bezel. Not a scratch :)
