Yeah, I just went to Sportsman's Warehouse last night, and talked to the guy there for like 15 minutes about lights and had a playaround with all the lights there including the surefires. All I can say is that I am now hooked...

SF are just a pleasure to hold. Lucky for me Plaza CUtlery has yet to sell their SF collection which contains both the E2W and the E1W.

A bit off topic, but does anyone else sense the lack of understanding of sales people when you ask to look at each light in the cabinet separately? And then together? And then you take one apart to see how hard the LED is to swap?

Trust me, all sales persons know a little about a lot. Hardly anyone knows alot about a little.
The latter is usually more expensive to hire, as specialised knowledge should.
Would you be willing to spend more money on a surefire just because you can talk to a sales person who actually knows something?

The guy I talked to at sportsman's seemed pretty well rounded in his knowledge, he accepted me wanting to see a bunch of lights at a time, twas a good time, he had all kinds of upgrades in the lights he had to show too, so that was sweet.

Those are the people with a genuine interest in whatever they sell, there aren't to many of those.
Except in specialized shops ofcourse, like RC shops.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the stigma with the wine lights? Like I said, LA Police gear was practicly giving them away (for an E2E that is), I just figured it was a good way to get one cheap.

Good to know thatSportsmans wharehous carries them!!! Had one open up not long ago, hadn't had time to go in. The only other place is a police supply shop around here, but they are always telling me that they are back ordered due to war needs?
Now if I could find somebody that carries JetBeam, Fenix etc. so I can handle them and see what lights I need to find a home for!!!

Fenix-store(not tax or shipping) sells Fenix, As for jetbeam, Dealextreme had them for cheap and they also sell a bunch of other stuff, Eilimon(Spelling?) has not been responding so you best bet is to buy from CPF in the Buy/Sell/Trade section(B/S/T). Lighthound sells Fenix, Huntlight, and a bunch of others. Batteryjunction sells all kinds of stuff(look at the Terralux maglite upgrade espically this one) Malkoff, Milkyspit and a few others will be able to mod you Maglite. Or a ROP for your mags will also work.

Thank you Gunner12, I've had no problem finding them online, but I would like to handle them, and have a better idea of a size comparison/functionality of the lights.

I don't think they are for sale in any retailers in the U.S. If you live near Atlanta you can visit 4sevens store and buy one from him in person, but other than that you pretty much have to buy online. I can tell you though that they are VERY nice lights and will impress you quite a bit.

Sorry misinterpreted your request

Flashlight reviews?, quickbeam has pictures of the lights compared to a Minimaglite and a ruler. If you live close to the Fenix store, you could probably drive over to see the size. I thinks there are a few more stores in the U.S. but I can't remember the names.

Here is my opinion:
To, me the Fenix AA versions is the perfect size for my hands. The clickie is right where my thumb is comfortable and the bezel is just at the other end of my palm. the click is just the right resistance for the size of the light. The function is pretty good. I don't have a L1D-CE or any Fenix, but I have handled them before. Some people here say the Fenix has the prefect user interface but there have been reports of problems.

Jetbeam are about the same size as Fenix flashlights

Fenix's website has postures of the flashlight in hand and compared to a Swiss army tool.

I hope that helps.

especially if you like LEDs it never ends since there are new developments almost daily .....and if you like modding ..... well, you're just beyond hope.

On a side note, I don't know how many two year olds can take a hit on the noggin with a metal light... maybe leave some poly streamlights around for them??
