I have a mag 74 right now that as I understand it is "948 bulb-Lumens, 616 torch-Lumens out the front end". and the ROP Hi should be 1150 bulb-lumens with one less batterey. So switch over to the ROP or is the difrence worth it?

Probably not worth it to be honest. The difference will be barely visible. ROPS really shine when completed with a good battery solution and full switch fix etc, otherwise, the bulb lumens probably won't reach near 1150 lumens. How about building a top shelf M@g85 ? That should be a good jump!

If this your first mod? If it is, i'd recommend the ROP. It's a bit simpler, the bulb is more robust, it's a bit cheaper, and it doesn't get too complicated with the bulb holders, bi-pin bulbs etc...
