Re: **Are you going to buy Surefire & Arc in 2004?
Who knows. Depends on my finances. I could see buying some Arc AAA's to give out as presents. I'd also like an Arc AA and might buy one, but it's low priority since I have several CMG Infinity series lights. I lust after a Surefire L4 and might buy one, but I also have some interest in the Arc LS5. I'm unlikely to buy BOTH an L4 and an LS5. I'm not very thrilled about the LS5's computerization features but physical form factor will matter a lot to me, and I haven't seen a pic or measurements of the LS5 yet. An integrated rechargeable battery system will also make the LS5 a lot more interesting if it has one. I'd say this is sort of a toss-up for me.
I've had the idea for a while of trying to graft an SF KL5 head onto a plastic-body 4AA light like a UKE 4AA and running it on rechargeables, but don't know how likely I am to actually attempt that.
I'm sort of interested in a KL1 with both the 1x123 and 3x123 Vitalgear twisty packs, the 1x for a small EDC light and the 3x for very long runtime. These combos are fairly inexpensive at
www.tadgear.com.
I wanted an E2e for a while but I'm not terribly interested in Surefire incandescents any more. The lamps are too expensive and the lights don't hold spares. I like the Streamlight TL2/TL3 better and want to try a Dorcy Spyder as a cheaper alternative.
The no-internet-sales policy doesn't bother me except as it affects my ability to buy. That is, I don't have philosophical objections to it; I just see it may have not-so-hot practical consequences. I'll probably buy mostly from CPF BST just like I do now anyway, and I don't think that supply will be affected terribly much.
