Greg, it's a beauty!

It's a very efficient diode putting out 115mW's at only 121mA's. I am sending it with no battery per our agreement.

It will be in Monday's mail. Don't forget to remove the dust cap!

Hi Jay, just a quick thank you for my 'cree' that arrived today safe and sound! We did it:thumbsup:

a question about eye safety, would polaroids be sufficient, if not could u post a link es to where i could get online protection to cover 405nm, or the nm the bluray emits.

Please do not do anything to impair your vision!

Get a GOOD pair of glasses or goggles to protect your eyeballs, and please don't go cheap!

Get what you need here.........http://store.oemlasersystems.com/in..._10_15&zenid=a3ba4ca89823ab996b1f29a30d2f5576

BTW,

I purchased the ML-7's, they cover a lot of the wave length that I need.

Ray
cheers for that, so just to confirm, the DIW would be sufficient for bluray?

Yes it would!

If you would want to obtain different "color" lasers, you might want to look at some of the different options before you order.

I now have 650nm and 532nm lasers so I opted for the ML7's (I'm pretty sure that they will cover 405nm also but only somewhere around OD1-2), i'm still looking for a BR and 635nm laser.

Good luck,

Ray

Thanks for the props Ray!:) And for posting that link for the safety goggles...

Metatron, smart move to get the goggles. Not absolutely necessary for just pointing if your careful, but if your going to focus for burning, you definitely should have the proper eye protection...

tanasit, yours is shipping Monday! I know I keep saying this... but your going to like it!

Re: FS: My New 'Pocket Mini' Lasers! - Blu-Ray or Red

Note: I will have a very limited number of 6X sleds available soon!;) These diodes will be a $50 dollar upgrade above the normal Pocket Mini price of $190. These 6X blu-ray diodes can be set between 150mW's and 200mW's. I have my personal 6X set at 209mW's. I use it on special occasions. I keep a very conservative duty cycle of 30 sec. on / 30 sec. off.
(I do not guarantee diode life. But will rebuild at no charge. You pay for parts and shipping)

Set at 80mW's per your request... The diode should have a long life at this setting.

Your not going to believe this, but this 80mW blu-ray is just as bright visually as my 150mW 803T build! It is one of the longer wavelength diodes. (seems like this happens often when I set the power lower)

Let me explain how I test this. No fancy equipment or anything... I shine the lasers side by side in the dark, at the ceiling. (30' distance)

I can then see how much reflection bounces off of the ceiling and hits the adjacent wall. You can see the brightness in the reflection. This seems to be a good way to compare visual brightness. (IMO)

Anyway, even though it is set at only 80mW's, it is a SCHWEET blu-ray!

PM replied!

These are superb builds! Besides the size, a great feature of this host/driver combination, is the option of being able to use a Lithium primary (CR123), or a Lithium rechargeable! (RCR123) ;)

You will not be disappointed...

Hi Jay, Merry Christmas! :)

I just received my 110mW's blu-ray pocket mini laser, 1 day before x-mas! It's really x-mas present for me..

And yes Jay, I really like it's florescent 'beamshoot'

BTW, What is the default focus point? is it 5 inch?

Re: FS: My New 'Pocket Mini' Lasers! - Blu-Ray or Red

Glad to know that it made it all the way to Indonesia for you!

Thanks for posting and letting me know...

I set the focus for best visual dot at 30' distance. This seems to be the 'sweet spot' for general pointing.

For burning (proper eye protection recommended), turning the focus ring counter clockwise will focus for closer distances.

Point it at something black at 5' distance, as you turn the focus ring counter clockwise, the dot will get very tiny, at it's smallest, it will smoke the material...
