I've got some regular AAA Duracell 750mAh NiMHs that I've used for a while and since I got my Maha MH-C9000 I decided to put them through a discharge and then a refresh/analyze cycle.
They reported around 650mAh each, so I thought I should discharge then again and put them through a break-in.

Now they're only reporting aroun 560mAh! :sigh:
Is this normal?

My best guess is that your cells have developed internal short circuits, which is common in standard NiMH cells.

One way to test this is to charge the cells and immediately do a discharge test. Then recharge the cells, let them sit for a couple of days, and discharge them at the same current. My guess is that the capacity after sitting for a few days will be significantly lower than what you measured fresh off charge. If that is the case, then there is really nothing you can do other than recycle these cells and buy new ones.

Cheers,
BG
