What I was trying to say is that the Dereelight pill option was mentioned only in the SST-50 section and not in the XM-L section. I would like to order a XM-L pill.

Hi

They are the same price as a regular module is. If you back track a couple of pages you will soon see they have been ordered, I will try and move so it doesn't look like just sst 50's. The possible levels are the same as a regular module is.

Hi Dave,

Totally dim myself on all the available options - would welcome your recommendation.

Making an EDC light for myself - 6PD head, Fivemega 3P body - will be running single AW IMR 18350. Going to get one of Ahorton's aspheric lens kits.

I'd like the coolest white LED - the XRE's seem to be the most recommended on his thread but I'm out of touch a little with developments. Won't need a reflector I think but will want thermal potting.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Dave!

I received my high cri XP-G drop-in and I really like it!
I'm wondering if the white sticker on the outter reflector has to be removed for better heat conduction?

Is it possible to get a Linger Special with high cri XP-G and single mode? Which voltage could that driver use?
Thank you!

I've been reading the threads for the past couple of days. I'm in the market for a Red LED light to use for hunting. Specifically, this would be a rifle mounted light. I would need a setup with very good throw.

Everyone recommends these custom modules, but not sure exactly what I need to get going. If anyone could assist, I'd appreciate it. SST-50, Red Dragon? What shell, etc?

If there is a how-to guide anywhere with the basics, please forward me along.

Even though this is generic, I do believe the answers will lead me to buying one of these P60 modules listed in the thread. I just don't know what I need to be as of yet.

Hi

I have had members use either a R2 XRE which is the narrowest beam or I have also had R5 XPG's ( more spill )when ordered to use with Ahortons aspherics. I do not own this set up but they have all seemed satisfied for purpose they were using.

HI

The red platinum dragon is a good emitter and the truest of the reds. I also have a Red XPE which will use slightly less power and while still close to true red will be a bit more orange. There are no such thing as a red SST 50 as far as I know. I have some red SST 90 but they use alot of power and are more of a flood emitter than a thrower.

The viewing angle on the platinum dragon and the XPE are about the same and while the dragon may be a bit stronger it is not by a whole lot.

Hello, Dave.
A little while ago I had contacted you on CPF regarding Wolf-Eyes lamp assembly upgrade. Results of that project were quite pleasing - I am using it every day for night walks with dog. I am wondering if you could do one more. This time I am thinking about XM-L T50 emitter. Since XM-L has much larger die and driven at 2.8A, I need to ask you if it feasible to fit it and driver into WE drop-in and also keep heat management under control on high levels(planning to use thermal potting to dissipate heat through side walls of drop-in housing).
If XM-L emitter not a feasible solution, I would go for XP-G again.

Thanks in advance,
Eugene.

Nailbender,

I am looking at purchasing one of your drop ins. I am looking for the most possible throw so I believe from what I have read here on this fine forum that the XRE would be the best bet can you make me one of these with only 1 mode also would a smooth reflector give a longer throw or is your OP reflector the best for the job? Thanks for your time

Hi Dave,

Well received XM-L T50 flux Bin E4 neutral white. Thanks
Very well made and nice beam pattern as well.

- Distance : about 70cm from the white color door
- Brightness : Med. mode of the 3 levels(high, med. low)

.
The above pictures don't look like reality.
To my eyes, the spot beam is yellow and spill looks like very light-purple.

I'm intereted in T40 flux bin 5B3 neutral White & T30 flux bin E7 3000K Warm White as well.
Can you tell about its tint or show beamshot?
Anybody can show the beamshot?

Thanks,

:thumbsup:Wow, I just receive my Linger Special with the Q23000K 7A3 (90 minimum CRI)-
It is FANTASTIC. I had never had a high CRI before, but always liked the warm/neutral emitters. This thing just kicks some serious butt!
It feels like I am carrying around a light bulb. It can't get dark fast enough.
I am very excited about getting out on the dark bike trails and see what it is really like - around the house just doesn't do it justice.
I think that anyone who likes a warm tint has to get one - you don't know what you are missing. It is much betterer than I had hoped for.:twothumbs
It just 'feels' so much easier on the eyes, almost a relaxed feeling - I guess it is the opposite of the old 'angry blue'
I hope that they continue to work the high CRI magic and increase the output
Once again, THANKS DAVE!!!! Once again you have exceeded my expectations!
