Damn these McGizmo's, they're just too good.
Ordered my third light with the 119V LE, a Mule to compliment the Haiku and SunDrop.

I know how you feel. I just picked up the mule head and I am really suprised at how useful it has been.

That's it, I'm sure I'll end up using the mule the most out of the three although there'll still be plenty of use for the other two.
I was originally drawn to the mule or possibly the sundrop as my first McGizmo but went with the haiku for it's more general purpose beam.
Overall I think I knew I'd end up getting all three after I received my haiku, these little lights are just a great little system that covers all applications that don't require crazy amounts of light and owning several lights with extreme power I find that quality of light is generally more useful than quantity for most tasks.

You would LOVE the Tri-V series, only downside is they are $$$$.

I've never seen one in the flesh but they do look pretty cool and I can see how they incorporate the attributes of a Haiku, Mule and SunDrop all into one.
I've had a brief look on the forum at pictures of them and they appear to have a bare emitter in the square flood section although I'm sure it has a little glass window over it?
Either way I like to get my gear wet and I'm sure that would kill a Tri V.
Definitely a cool light but for me couldn't replace a McGizmo trio.

Has anyone tried rechargeable CR123 batteries in their mule?

Mine has been getting a workout (because I keep playing with it). I now reach for the torch instead
of the light switch.

What would be the difference in output and runtime?

Is the investment worth it?

McG lights run happily on RCR123. Output is the same, runtime will be less due to lesser capacity. A little more than half if I recall correctly.

I tried a few different RCR123 in my gizmos but didn't like the tight fit (that dented them all) length wise.
I stocked up on CR123 batteries and am much happier using them. They also get good run times with mixed power level use.
Generally I use a heap of 18650 batteries in other lights which are great but I find 16340 batteries pretty lacking in general so go with primaries there.
Off topic, I was in Port Mac yesterday. Even had my mule with me.

Here are my two newly acquired Mules: 119 3v Nichia 219b on a lego Surefire inspired 100% by PSM! See previous page, PSM totally nailed it and I had to make myself the same gorgeous light. Thanks PSM this combo is great and always in my pocket! Boy I had a hard time finding that E1e body.. I tried with a E1L tube but it did not look as good..

The second mule was received last week from Don, boasts a XPG-2 neutral with a (seriously? how good looking is that??) AA tube!!! Running a 14500 AW and very happy with it.
Hard to fall for a mule indeed.. or two. Thank you Don for making these wonders!

Mule or Haiku???????

Where did you lose it? {sorry, couldn't resist - "if I knew where I lost it, it would not be lost".....}

Having had both of these multiple times over the years, I always go back to a Haiku.

how much shorter is the 1x123 mule than the 1x123 Haiku?

I have big hands and I'm wondering if it'd be sensible to go 2xAA for a mule high cri because I don't wanna go low voltage yet (1xAA) the more I think about it

No worries! Consider the 2x123 sized body for the "3v" Mule head as well. 16650, 17670, 1xrcr 123 with a dummy spacer cell, 1x primary 123 with a dummy spacer cell, 1x17500 rcr with a spacer, the possibilities are more numerous than the 2xAA tube, it is correspondingly shorter than 2xAA but still fills the hand nicely.
