    Bill - I think I am getting it!! The Rechargables pushes up the power so the 22 ohm resistor has more usable light......am I close in my thinking now? Thanks for your time :)

    That's just it. With the 22 ohm resistor tailcap I have the light looks like my 3 lumin HDS setting. With no resistor I get a very useful 15 to 20 lumin (I am guessing) light. Don't know how long it would run with no resistor though.

    For those of us that don't have modded KL4 heads and using non rechargable batteries or a 2 stage tailcap were looking at about a 90 min runtime total or am I reading that time way off??

    Hope you guys don't mind a bump. I am still facinated by the KL4 on a single cell! How many guys just use non rechargables? Got an older L4 en rout next week. It may create me a TW4.

    I am going to be using my KL4 head on a single cell body. What 2 stage do I need for a decent low. I have one thats perfect for night vision but no good for basic day use needs. Also are there non flat buttons for these? THANKS!!!

    It doesnt work so well for daytime "Spotting" type needs like, looking in nooks and crannies so I got the original L1 back together.

    Help me decide between a SureFire L1 & E1L

    if you like flood, the L4 is the way to go. I'd get the E1L because you can get an L4 later and trade heads between the 2:grin2:
