alrighty. i took off the tailcap. i then took a screw driver and tapped the battery to the body 4 times to get it in strobe mode. the strobe works! so now it appears i have a bad tail cap.... dang

So I have come across a problem where my ultrafire (wf501b 510 lumen) will turn off on strobe or sos mode. It will blink for about 1 or 2 seconds and then turn off. The other modes work fine. (I use the strobe mode at night on my bike.)

I read in a few places that the clicky tailcap goes bad. So i had a look and that black ring inside the switch is loose and floating around. I think it might be broken?!
Are you aware of a way to fix this?

Gonna stick with the metal. I did some research, posted information above, and decided that copper isn't that much of an upgrade from AL. Plus im riding my bike at night, so it didn't even get hot while i was running high for 40mins.
I also tried to take some pics but my cell phone cam sucks...

from this image it appears the copper is only a little bit better at dissipating heat.
