Thanks, Mr. Happy. You're actually dead-on! I contacted VapexTech and they say they haven't sold the 2700 mAh batteries for some time, so these ones are at least 2 1/2 years old. :( Of course the eBay seller won't respond to my email. :shakehead Live and learn! I'll see if VapexTech...
Hi,
I purchased 12 Vapex 2700 mAh cells from an ebay seller (who has 100% feedback and only sells Vapex cells). I thought these would be good for devices that might run the cells too low (clock, digital weather station, kids toys) where if the cells got killed, it wouldn't be as bad as losing...
I am doing a break-in on some 2700 mAh cells. I set the capacity to 2700 and noticed that one of the cells has just entered the "REST" period after charging. It's showing 1.43 v and 3900 mAh. If the break in is supposed to put in 1.6x capacity, it should end at 4320 mAh. At 3900 mAh, the...
Well, that settles it for me, Mr. Happy. There's no need for me to buy a ZTS tester if I want to measure under-load voltage of an AA or AAA. I wonder what load the ZTS tester would put on the battery when it tests it?
I'm also going to note the voltage ranges you mentioned and put them near...
I tried searching the internet but had little success.
Ftike is an electronics company based in Shenzhen, China. This is a large manufacturing area, and many NiMH battery manufacturers operate in Shenzhen. According to what I can find out, when the display shows "1" it means that it's an...
Ok, I'm thinking aloud here, perhaps you can tell me if this will work ...
If you measure a cell's voltage with a DMM, you'll get a higher reading because it's not under load. Using a tester that puts a load on it, you get a more accurate reading.
If I want to determine a cell's...
The batteries in the first post are what I remember. The red "D" cells with the cat seem very familiar, unless my memory fails me. The ones below, in silver, I seem to recall those in the 80's?
I'm wondering if writing on the battery with a sharpy-type permanent marker, then applying a thin layer of clear nail polish would work? I find the permanent ink does wear off, and with tape you have to worry about a tight fit or the glue running when the cells get warm and leaving a sticky...
We recommend alkaline batteries for the obvious reason of self-discharge in NiCd and NiMh. As was.lost pointed out, change the batteries twice a year. You should also test them weekly and replace the smoke alarms every 5 years.
The battery life also depends upon how frequently the alarm...
I remember the Ever Ready (or everready) batteries with the 9 and the cat. They seemed to leak quite a bit. And I haven't heard of Mallory for years. As a kid I had many a ruined cheap flashlight found with leaky batteries.
I wonder what type of batteries were used in those old Polaroid...
I have a C9000, dated 0H0DA. Last night was the first time it ever missed termination on a AAA. I was charging an old Energizer 800 mAh AAA at 500 mAh. I noticed this when there was 2700 mAh put into the cell. The voltage displayed on the C9000 at this point was 1.35 volts. This is a very...
I just ordered a Fenix LD20 from j2led. His website and ebay stores are in full operation, and I ordered through his website and paid via Paypal. There's free shipping in Canada, so that's a bonus for me, too.
He didn't comment on the manufacturer who he referred to. I get the feeling that...
