Flashlights on a Plane (which to bring?)

I used to fly every week. Thanks fully no longer. However I just got back from Key West. Here is what I brought (and have flown with in my carry on countless times before) Surefire A2 Aviator, Surefire C2 Centurion w/crenelated bezel, Inova X5, Fenix E01, Nitecore D20, Inova X1. Not even so...

    Eneloops-not just batteries!

I've seen a couple passing mentions of the old model, but it looks like there is a new model of Eneloop Hand warmer http://www.japantrendshop.com/eneloop-kairo-light-hand-warmer-from-sanyo-kirsl1s-p-395.html Kind of expensive but kind of cool.

    Defective D20?

Will do, thanks for the advice. it still is a bit disappointing to open a brand new box and have to clean the contacts. :candle:

    Defective D20?

Well, I don't have any Deoxit. I used some alcohol. It seems better but still not 100%. Basically I wiped the positive center and negative ring in the head. is there any place else I should be hitting?

    Defective D20?

I just received my new D20 today. I've never owned a light with the Smart PD before. However, I am afraid something might be amiss with the light. Just FYI, I am running it on fresh eneloops. The instant switching is no problem. However sometimes when I press and hold to ramp up or down the...

    Blood in the water

Yeah I agree. If you want to save on batts get some RCRs and some replacement bulbs. Winelights are cool, IMO.

    Houston, we have flashlights.

There are fantastic $100 flashlights. However, the non-flashaholic can be very well served with a number of quality lights for a $100 outlay. Spent wisely, $100 can provide more than adequate for the personal illumination needs of an entire family. Still, better people have anything than...

    Agh! Lost a light

Not a bad idea, Farmall. Although, could get tedious using RCRs.

    Agh! Lost a light

Since purchasing it over a year ago, my EDC light has been a regular fenix P3D with a pair of RCR123s. It has been great, both in size and output for pretty much any mode of dress, but especially in my standard business casual. A few months ago, it got even better when Mr.Shawn kindly gave me...

    Questions about Inova X1

As others have said, V2 is, IMO, the best model. Combining a useful beam and long runtime. However, those used to the robustness of models like the X5 should note the X1 is nowhere near as robust. I have one on its way back to Inova for replacement after it was propped on a padded, carpeted...

Anyone ever wish for a Fenix P2/P3T?

I personally would like a light with a forward clicky that there is no chance of it going into another setting without a deliberate choice on my part, along with the ability for momentary. As far as cobling something together, at best it is an inelegant solution. Worse still, for me, is that I...

    Going Diving Which Light?

I'd go for the Ra Twisty.

Anyone ever wish for a Fenix P2/P3T?

Yeah, thats exactly what I am talking about. The P3D envelope is much more EDC friendly than a light like the TK10. Additionally, I would like a lower low. IMO, 60 lumens is not a true low, but more like the Med power of the P3D

Anyone ever wish for a Fenix P2/P3T?

I was just thinking about this today. I like the simplicity of the L1/L2T lights. In fact the L2T would be really great, except I like the slightly shorter, slightly wider form factor of the P3D. Its not really a big deal for me having the reverse clicky. I leave my light in turbo, figuring if I...

A Real Blast From The Past: County Comm Inova X5T milspec!

I have one of these. While I. Like the anodizing and design very much, I find the pressure switch does not make as good of contact as the regular versions, causing the LEDs to flicker. I use it as a twisty.
