    Well-regulated and small AA

What I don’t like about the D25C clicky: 1. The reliability of the switch. It takes a couple of times cycling through L-M-H to warm it up. 2. The UI. When the “hidden” modes are only hidden behind 2 cycles of L-M-H, they’re not hidden enough for me. ZL does a good job with the...

    Well-regulated and small AA

First, in my own words, then I'll fill out the checklist to make sure I don't forget anything. Summary: I want an AA-powered, diameter <=20mm, length <=90mm, with moonlight mode (<=3lm), at least 3 total modes, good runtime, tail clicky, highest output at least 100lm, preferably with some kind...

    Sunwayman V11R (XM-L, 1xR/CR123A, 1xAA/14500) Review: RUNTIMES, VIDEO, BEAMSHOT+

Question on the V11R: does it behave differently with RCR compared with CR123a when getting low on juice? I thought generally that RCRs "just go out" with little to no warning whereas primaries go out gradually, which itself is a type of warning. So first, is that true in general, and second is...

Yes, no clip -> accidental activation (_very_ occasional)

    Eagletac D25 Clicky Series Round-up Review (D25C, D25A2, D25LC2 - XM-L & XP-G)

Re: Eagletac D25 Clicky Series Round-up Review (D25C, D25A2, D25LC2 - XM-L & XP-G) For the D25C clicky, operating on a CR123a primary, what warning, if any, is there before it runs out of juice? Do high and/or turbo get dimmer? Does ML work but not turbo? Thanks in advance.

Zebralights new battery tube design(SC600 MKII, SC63, SC5, exc.)

One is an inexpensive 1x18650 light, I do not know if protected cells are required. It seems prudent to use unprotected cells only if you are SURE that the light is okay with them. The other is a 4x18650 light. It is not inexpensive, but also I do not know whether using unprotected cells is...

Zebralights new battery tube design(SC600 MKII, SC63, SC5, exc.)

Well... easy is not the word I would use. I have two other 18650 lights, and I need batteries compatible with all.

Zebralights new battery tube design(SC600 MKII, SC63, SC5, exc.)

Voted "no", because I don't like the idea of "this battery goes in this light, that battery goes in that light". I prioritize simplicity and its cousin lendability.

Anybody else carry in the pocket w/o clip and get an accidental activation?

Zebralight plans MKIII's and SC63 release for this year

Egads, I _had_ a Samsung, and it was awful! I'm a big believer in being cross-platform (switching every once in awhile), but if I went back to Android I would be forced to get a Nexus phone. Stock Android, no Samsung bloatware. On topic, responding to the tail cap switcharoo suggestion, I read...

*2016* ZebraLight SC63 and variants like the SC63w

Exactly what I'm thinking. More formally, the "optimum" length is really more a range than an exact value, and the 62, 63, and 52 are all within. 52 at the small end, 63 at the big. It's really quite interesting how the MKii is just a little bit larger than the 62, yet feels like MUCH larger...

*2016* ZebraLight SC63 and variants like the SC63w

What is the optimal length? Personally I think the SC33 is way too short, the SC52 is borderline, and the SC62 is closer to perfect. Maybe the 63 is actually perfect for length?

I tried the SC62d at IS when it came out, but didn't like that either. Maybe I'll give hi CRI another try, thanks for the info.

Personally, I cannot stand neutral tints. They look all washed out to me.
