    My Fenix L2P just exploded!?!?!?

After making two small pinholes in the sides of the tailcap boot the problem seems to have disappeared. Now I just need to find another strobe for my next scuba diving trip . Thanks again to everyone for the help. It's been a fascinating discussion.

    My Fenix L2P just exploded!?!?!?

Thanks for the suggestion. The ballooning happens even after venting the tube body.

    My Fenix L2P just exploded!?!?!?

This is OUTSTANDING folks. Thanks for the hints at other threads to study. I certainly will, and I appreciate your patience in that I didn't know enough about the problem to find the threads ahead of time. These are brand new Maha PowerEx batteries. And it's not just these two batteries...

    My Fenix L2P just exploded!?!?!?

or more precisely, the rubber cap protecting the switch blew off. It was bizarre. No I'm not modding it or overloading it or doing anything cute. I'm using Maha PowerEx 2500 NiMH batteries, bought last year, charged in a Maha charger. The flashlight had been running for about an hour when I went...

importance of making payments on appreciating assets

I don't know why this thread struck a chord with me. Apologies in advance if my comments offend anyone. That's certainly ideal, and of course it's the sound advice that we all get from parents and good money managers. No question that in a perfect world no one would ever need to borrow money...

L1P now, or wait for P1

I'm thinking that the P1 might be a good 1xCR123 "bug out bag" light. While I dearly love my multi-level HDS, having a twisty head rather than rubber/plastic push button (which can become damaged in an emergency) is an advantage. Coupled with long shelf life of CR123 and relatively inexpensive...

SureFire 6 Flashlight LED Beamshots! (SF E2L, KL3,KL2,U2,L5,L6)

Also late in expressing appreciation for the beamshots, but I have an excuse since I only recently joined CPF :lolsign: FWIW, after studying these beamshots I got an L5 which is permanently parked on my nightstand. My .45 goes next to it each night. The strong light, and good spill make it an...

What Surefire LED should I buy?

The L5 does not have a tight beam. It produces very even light across the entire width of the beam area and does not have a center bright spot. This is in contrast to the turbo head lights which have a very pronounced center bright spot. Consequently, of all my lights, my L5 is the one on my...

New to the forum. Question on SF G2.

If I were in your situation Terry, and could only carry ONE light, it would be my HDS 60XRGT (GT is optional of course). Then I could get any of four (4) light levels as needed. I would run it on rechargable CR123s to minimize long term expense. I find the multiple light levels to be VERY...

    US Saving Bonds

http://www.publicdebt.treas.gov/sav/savinvst.htm 3.2% thru April 2006 :sold: NOT! You typically wouldn't buy gov debt instruments if you have ANY need for appreciation or to hedge against inflation. Hopefully your advisor isn't suggesting that.

John Willis Go bag/e and E bag/Bail out bag

Apologies in advance if I should know John Willis (photography is also a hobby of mine and recently I took some "grief" because I had 1,323 posts on dpreview.com but didn't recognize the name of a world famous photographer - go figure) I'm interested in acquiring one or more BOBs for myself and...

    V for Vendetta

Wife and I normally just get our movies thru NetFlix, and we generally don't like theatres (many of the patrons are completely void of manners, don't turn off cell phones, etc) but I wanted to see V, so we went last night. I had read the story line (still looking for the book - local B&N was...

What's the verdict on the Gladius??

I too bought mine from Botach (I buy a number of items from Botach, so I just included the Gladius special offer on one of the orders). Botach has great prices, but poor inventory management. I'm convinced that unless it's an item advertised as a special, they do NOT have it in inventory and...

    help me find some binoculars?

Re: Marine Binoculars I have the Nikon 8x42 Monarch, waterproof/fogproof/etc and have often used them on various ships, in the rain and around water. I highly recommend them and am considering another pair. $290 from Binoculars.com...
