Do you have any pictures?

We could see what other brand they look similar to, especially with close up pictures of the top and the bottom.

Are these cells made in China, or Japan ?

A photo or two may prove to be most helpful.

The price is right, it would be nice to see them work out. If you have a newer version C-9000 you may need to leave them on for an hour after termination to top off. Also, maybe a lower charge rate say 500 ma. Please keep us posted. :thumbsup:

mine is 0g0d01
when did the trickle get added?
The Early Maha C-9000s terminated strictly on Delta-V. At a 1000ma rate the charger sensed DV reliably and ended the charge at full charge. At lower rates <700ma DV was not reliably sensed. Some also felt the cells were getting too hot at the end of the 1000ma charge. In later versions of the charger Maha added an additional safety factor of limiting the maximum charge voltage to 1.47 volts (I could be wrong here, feel free to correct me). As 1.47 volts may not be a full charge in some cells by the default the charge then switches to a low rate of 200ma for one hour to assure a complete the charge.

I am not the authority here but, I think I have it reasonably correct. I am not sure how the versions related to changes. If you purchased yours in the last year it is probably pretty safe to say you have the "Trickle at end feature"

The bottom line here is that if you are taking them off charger at the end of charge without the potential 1 hour trickle, you may not be getting an optimum charge.

Let us know if this helps.

i leave them an hour or 2 before i do the discharge.
both of mine were replaced by maha early in the game for termination issues.

I picked these up over the holidays as a package deal with a "negative delta V" charger that was a relabelled Camelion BC-905a made for Meijer called the Powercell Intelligent Charger.

The batteries are made in china and are capped by a white plastic like the Sanyos...so they made be re-labelled Sanyos. Last some pics:

P.S. How would I would upload and attach images to this post

Re: meijer powercell precharged 2100 ...some numbers

Those look a little like the Kodak Pre-Charged/GP Recyko type of cell to me.

I've done some more testing on these batteries and based upon how stable they are into a 2 ohm load (i.e. unloaded cell voltage versus loaded down cell voltage), they seem to be the "best batteries" that I have yet owned amongst my 47 AA rechargeables:
HTML:
_Battery____capacity______Ron____________Notes
Powercell  2100-mAh   Ron=0.02 ohm   1 month old (4/4)
Energizer  1600-mAh   Ron=0.04 ohm   4 years old (4/4)
Panasonic  1600-mAh   Ron=0.08 ohm   3 years old (6/6)
RayOvac    1600-mAh   Ron<=0.12 ohm  7 years old (7/15)
Duracell   2650-mAh   Ron=0.12 ohm   2 years old (4/6)
Energizer  2500-mAh   Ron=0.16 ohm   2 years old (2/2)

 ======\/Problems  powering  A580 camera\/========
FailSafe   ????????   Ron=0.30 ohm   2   years old (4/4)
Digital    2200-mAh   Ron=0.32 ohm   1.5 year  old (4/4)
SupremePower 1800     Ron=0.40 ohm   1   year  old (2/2)
The terminology (5/13) used under "Notes" means that 5 of 13 batteries had this characteristic. The others could be twice as high in value and thus a low fractional value indicates variability.
The Powercells are the only "low self discharge" batteries that I have but so far I'm impressed by the "voltage stability"/"low on-resistance". The Digital, SupremePower and FailSafe batteries all had R_on>=0.30 ohms and caused the A580 camera to shutdown after about only 20 pictures were taken. Out of the 20 bad batteries (and 27 good ones) that I have, these no-name batteries have been obtained in the last 2 years but have the most operational problems early into their life...it seems you get what you pay for when you go "no-name" in battery circles. The exception being the Powercells by Meijer. Generally, Don't Buy No-Name brands of batteries.

The Rayovacs have been real workhorses that I've had for over 7 years and have been cycled many times and they seem to still work well (those with Ron < 0.24 ohms) into the my new digital camera that is very particular of batteries. The no-name "Digital 2200 mAh" batteries are good for about 30 pictures in my digital camera whereas others can give a couple of hundred...they're junky. The issue is a false shutdown due to the high on-resistance: They will be relegated for use in in my battery powered wireless mouse.

The tradeoff with using larger high capacity cells (> 2100) is an decrease in voltage while loaded characterized by high on resistance (Ron). I'll be sticking to the lower capacity cells (~2100 mAh and below) and those using the LSD formulation pioneered by Sanyo.

EDIT: Ron details, here

Re: meijer powercell precharged 2100 ...some numbers

these have seen a few cycles in my ft-817 and actually improved slightly over the first 10 cycles i put on them in the maha.maybe they like the slow charge?
