Somebody posted a picture of one of the Gransee-era ARC AA lights recently, and I was mourning the fact that I never snagged an AA-sized ARC.
But on reflection, I realized that my Logan 17500 is better in every way.
It's as small as the ARC AA light. But its output on high is far better than the ARC was, and its run-time on low is far, far better. The quality of the beam is incomparably better -- no 5mm LED of the 2010 era can compete with the Nichia 219b that my Logan has.
Like the ARC, it is a simple twisty: rugged, and fully potted. It's not indestructible, but it's damned close.
And -- if all that were not enough -- it can run on AA's, but also 14500's, CR123s, 16340s, 16500s, and 17500s.
I honestly cannot think of any respect in which the Logan is not a better light.
