Has anyone seem this:

This is a totally 0.3w white LED with 3 light-emitter dices inside, 0.1w each. The size is 6.0 x 5.0 x 1.7mm. I've thermally connected it to a heatsink and pushed it up to 0.9W with 3AA NiMH batteries - very bright! The light has obvious yellow tint. Instead of being equipped in flashlights, I think it should be used in other applications such as digital camera, low-power light, bulb for decoration, etc.

The 3 0.3w LEDs are being powered with 3AA NiMH rechargeables. Actually, the three LEDs are drawing 600ma from the batteries - 4.5V x 0.6ma = 2.7W!

A typical blue/white 5mm LED die is around 70mW, so with just a bit of heatsinking, it could be made to do 100mW easily.

I think using that LED in arrays would be great for task lighting behind a diffuser.

I'll take the stars on the left. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif But yes, those are pretty cool looking. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Yes, idleprocess, the major use of these LEDs are for home lighting/ decorative purposes in arrays, according to the OEM. However, I will try to make a portable array of 10 of these for my own use /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif.

I will also prefer the stars, Nitroz, if I have no need to consider the price /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif
