Anyone have a source for these? They would be a fun toy with my new L0D-CE I figure that the light could hand 2.4-2.6 volts with no problem and get alot more light on high.

Do you think 2.4V-2.6V would give more brightness? It would still be under the Vf of the LED so being boosted by the driver. Usually, with Li-Ion, the L0D drop in brightness around 2.6V under load, when the cell need to be charged.

They might not have the current capacity. I'm hoping someone makes a 2AAA battery tube for the light.

There's no such thing as 1/2AAA, AFAIK. There's 1/3 and 2/3. Three 1/3rds would be too much voltage and not enough current. And can't put two different sizes in, or the smaller will reverse-charge when it's down and be ruined.

LiIons are a problem too, as they must not be discharged below 2.5V, or be damaged. The L0Dce won't dim to alert you (regulated), and who would pay attention anyway? Looks to me like rechargeable LiIons would essentially be disposables.

Based on my other comment 2AAA would probably just give more runtime, right?
