1/2 D cells?

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

They should fit in the light. I'm not sure whether the charger would get confused.

These cells will be fine. I brought over several hundred of the 3.5Ah and 4Ah cells for high-power applications like the MagCharger. Just keep in mind that they will take longer to charge than the regular stick.

Wilkey

A little bit OT: Does anyone know how much voltage one or a stick of these 1/2D healthy cells should measure when fully charged?
I'm afraid I accidentally overdischarged one of mine and would like to know if there's dead cell somewhere in the stick...
Thanks

A 5 cell pack should top out at about 1.4v/cell. 5*1.4-7 volts. A "dead" cell would really be either shorted (which would take about 1.4 v off the peak voltage above) or weak. If it is weak, the peak voltage will be about right. But the cell will die more quickly than the others. Check the volts right off the chager, then at 2-3 minute increments while turned on. This should pinpoint IF a cell is flaky. If you use loose cells, you can simply test each cell. Or, if you pierce the shrink wrap at each cell, you can test between cells that way.

thanks for the link Lumenous

anyone bought something from them before? how does they ship the batteries? do they ship fast?

i just ordered a 3.5AH ready-pack for Magcharger from them.
Cost is $21.75 plus $12.44 shipping = US$34.19.

they only have the 1/2D 4AH flat end cells, and told me they'll able to make ready-packs in few weeks.

so if anyone want to buy a 4AH pack from them without DIY, can wait a while when they can pack for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
