1/2 tagged D cell batteries, where to get or alternatives?. Metalsub kl1242 fx1204

Hi Guys, I have the below diving torch but the battery pack has died from not being used.
I'm struggling to find anywhere that sell 1/2 d 4000mah tagged batteries or an alternative cell arrangement by packing out of similar.

already assembled.
i have seen claimed capacity of 4ah in nimh.
looks like an easy rebuild.
