1.4 amp to 1050ma AMC driver ?

To drive my P7 I bought 10 of the 1.4 amp AMC drivers from DX. I also have some P4's and XR-E's that I'd like to drive. Can I just de-solder one or two of the chips from the AMC driver to get 1050ma or 700ma? Do I have to do anything other than remove the chip?

I can also recommend that you short circuit the two diodes if you do not need the reverse polarity protection. This will give better output when the Vin gets lower.
