1.5mcp Aluminum Vectors @ Costco!!!

Yep, it's true! These:

The difference is that the one at Costco has the area light in the bottom of the handle (2 white LEDs, maybe I'll put a couple of Nichia 9200mcd whites in there...), not running along the top of the light. I picked one up last Friday at my local Costco in Ft. Worth. $26. Being the modder that I am, the first thing I did was take it apart! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif The stats are:
4ah 12v SLA battery
75W lamp - The package claims it is only 55W, and that is is a Phillips bulb /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

This thing will be getting a 100W super white as soon as I get home from my 3 week stint here in Buffalo, NY. The beam quality is quite good, has a nice hotspot, with good flood all around. Beam is fairly smooth all around, except for the blocks caused by the rubber bezel guard. Take that off and you get a nice round beam. Throws pretty good (for a spotlight). That's all. Over, and out!

paulr: 12v, I edited the post to reflect that. I wasn't home long enough to do any real runtime tests. Yes, it includes AC charger, and car cig. plug to run/charge with.

zmoz: There's not really room to stuff anything else into the light.

Paul, just about any true 1+MCP spotlight will beat an M6 HOLA...

Yes, but I didn't ask about a "true" 1+MCP spotlight--I asked about this 26 dollar thing from Costco that says 1.5MCP on the side. They are not necessarily related. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If the Banana Vector is any indication, this won't disappoint, and it will blow out the M6 HOLA...

I got the R2D2 Vector (hey, I was the guy that came upwith 'Yellow Banana Vector). The R2D2 "looks" like it's worth more than the $8 dollar differece in price, but the perfomance is about the same as the BANANA

To answer the question, YES, it easily out LUMENS the SureFire M6 with high output lamp assembly, but the beam pattern leaves a lot to be disired when compared side by side

Got mine today...well worth the $26. Even hurts my eyes when they are closed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif It says in the manual that I should wait 5 minutes after charging before using it...WHY?

Hmmm... Only thing I can think of is to allow the peak voltage/current in the battery right after a fresh recharge to calm down... Otherwise, you might risk flash-bulbing the filament...

I just bought this light today and was wondering how big a xenon bulb I can put in this (wattage and type)(current the manual just says H3 bulb)

Because it's 12V, you can put in a 100W Cool Blue...

Hmmm, I'm going by memory as I gave the yellow banana away as a gift but I think the R2D2 beam is much smoother even if it perhaps isn't overall any brighter although I think it may be. Plus it has a lockout trigger switch instead of the inconvenient (IMO) slide switch that the banana has. Then there are the cool LEDs for the area light. Worth the difference in price and a very good value for the money.

I like this one MUCH better than the 1M Vectra (yellow case w/swiveling grip) I have been using.

Mine has a carry handle on the top that is not shown in your photo /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif I haven't taken mine apart yet as I just finished the initial charge to light it up. It put out a very nice beam even though the diameter of the reflector is somewhat "small" in spotlight terms..

SO a 100W bulb is the hot upgrade? Sorry to sound like a dweeb /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif with such a question since I mod LED's all the time, but I really lack knowledge in the incandecent spotlight hotrodding arena.. Are these found at auto parts houses? What would put it over the top? (that a sealed lead/acid battery could keep up with) would like to attain 5 minute run-time with multi re-use capability. I don't mind someting that will self destruct (without supervsion) since I generally shutdown prior to critical mass. Thanx........

Select an H3 bulb, keep it around or under 150W to prevent the reflector from nuclear meltdown and the battery from needing Viagra, and make sure it's 12V...

Quickest way is to go check out your auto stores for H3 auto bulbs with the reqs... At 150W, I think it'll be on for barely 20min, if at that... But the thing should be a supernova...

Thanks Falcon, I'll start looking for a 150W. I did figure out that "H3" is the type socket, so the hunt is on! I'm gonna try to find something that's whiter than original too.
