Yeh yeh. Been done before. I got $100 to spend on PRODUCT. This figure does not include shipping. So $100 + shipping to spend. I was thinking a Zebralight H50-Q5, that's $50. But I also want a Fenix T1, or maybe something similar for less  Or I could go with a T1 and get a drop-in or two for my MaxFire XL's I got laying around.

I would really like a flood and I really want a thrower. I was considering the Malkoff dropins, but that eats up a large chunk of the budget and most aren't in stock.

So considering the limitations of that amount, wanting a thrower and flood, let the opinions fly :twothumbs

Edit: or i could get a ton of possibilities from DX. Though that order wouldn't make it till after Christmas.

Re: Million Dollar ... well $100 question

The T-1 is a sweet light, it is definately for throw. I don't own one, but I would imagine the P3D Q5 is basically a more floody version of the T-1. For an EDC the P3D would probably be easier to carry, but I EDC the T-1 anyways. If you dont want an EDC quite so big, I can recommend the P2D. I got the RB80 version, and I ordered the Q5 version for a friend. The Q5 is slightly brighter and it has a whiter beam tint, but I am satisfied with my Rebel. If I had known the Q5 was out I would have probably bought it, but I wasn't paying attention.:ohgeez: Hope this helps!:)

The T1 won't be for EDC. I got a P2D CE for that. Love the light. These purchases will be for other lighting. Walking, jogging, lighting up neighbor's that are too damn loud, etc :nana:

Then I would get the T-1, it is perfect for shining animals or people...

You can get a T-1 exclusively for shinning at stupid neighbors and a P1-CE on your keychain. That's what I am going for in the end. I do also have the P1D, P2D, and P3D.

so yeah... T1 + P1-CE

Lots of suggestions for the T1. Trying to blow it all in one place? What about suggestions for a flood?

Bump the price up about $25 and you can get the Dereelight DBS. Or get the Rapidfire for $100. These should light up things well. Or you can try to find a Sams Club 35w HID light for under that price.

Then make a diffuser for flood.

Lumapower M3 with the Turbohead... $70 at batteryjunction... three bodies and two heads that give you both a thrower and flood using either 123, AA or 2xAA batteries. Save the other $30 for the emitter upgrade due next year.

Well, this may seem to be an odd suggestion.... but.... if you happen to have a 3xD cell Maglite laying around (and who doesn't), then you could get the Electrolumens MT-III three LED drop-in ($99). Here is a thread in the CPF review area that discusses it, as well as the MT-I (which is a 1xLED version):

Just a monster floody light with enough throw to light up a huge area. Happy hunting!

Ahhh the Luma's. I had forgotten about them. tho I did think of the D-Mini. What bin of Cree do the Luma's use? Batteryjunction says it's only rated to 100lum. Seems very low considering my P2D on a 123 hits 170, is it?

Yeah the M3 uses a P4 and while the turbohead gives decent throw the regular head is not earth shatteringly bright by any means. Luma says a new replacement head is due Feb. 2008, so perhaps that'll use an R bin? The current "replacement" head (available separately from the M3 kit) supposedly uses a Q2.

The D-mini is availble if different flavors... the digital in Q2 and Q5, both driven harder than the M3 emitter, AFAIK.

I was looking at the D-Mini also.

On an upnote, I got an upgrade in my budget to $200. So, I spent some of it already. I got my first SureFire a G2 in Yellow. So I got $170 left. I am going to get a T1 from fenix-store(I could get it elsewhere for cheaper and before the 21st, but I like them), I'm going to order a Zebralight Q5, and figure out what to do with the rest. I can get it all now :grin2::grin2:

No approvals on what I'm getting? :poke: Figured I'd get some cheers and jeers in here somewhere

Go with a Surefire E1L (Cree) or a Novatac EDC-85. You can't go wrong with either and both have lifetime warranties.

Thrower, I'd say the Dereelight DBS. It will be upgradable so might be cheaper then buying a new light every time new LEDs come out.
