Hello,
i am trying to buy a flash lite that the beam will go as far as 1000 yards. Does anyone knows any product out on the market that i can purchase?Maybe something like 600-900 lumens.
Thank you

for throw that far you need either a laser or probably HID. There have been some custom modded HID lights that I bet will throw that 600-900 lumens isn't enough for a light you probably need about 3000-5000+ lumens for that distance.

Agreed. HID is what you'll need. Probably a minimum of 50 Watts to the bulb and more likely, 75 Watts to be really effective. The larger the reflector (and consequently the light itself), the tighter the HID spot will be allowing target illumination at greater distances but with less flood.

You haven't mentioned your budget. Maxabeams throw very far distances, over a mile but they cost in the multi-thousands of dollars. A great 50 watt light is sold by a member here - Xeray. Quite a bit less than a maxabeam. The more info you provide, the more you can be helped.

Welcome to CPF!

Any sealed-beam lantern will easily top 1000 yards in throw. But most production models only put out about 17 lumens

The DEFT thread shows a beamshot reaching 733 meters. That would be the longest throwing LED handheld.

Welcome to CPF, tishpeto.

There are very few lights that will deliver usable light as far as 1,000 yards, and most of them are custom made/modified by members here.

The MaxaBeam is a production light which can throw 1,000+ yards easily. The treeline lit in the distance in the pic below is actually 910 yards, but if there had been more room there is no doubt the extra 90 yards would not have been a problem!

Use of light?
Price?
Size?
Battery Choice?
Flashlight type or spotlight type body?

Also, more lumen does not mean more throw. A 10 lumen well focused light can throw more then a 1000 lumen flood light.

Also most lights that throw that far are HID light and they can take some time to start up(almost all need start up time).

:welcome:

...yup, love my Maxabeam too! It's amazing how much reach it has....in a handheld format.

I highly recommend the AmondoTech Titanium Mega Illuminator, which is a very large rechargeable HID handheld searchlight. It has a very narrow pencil beam with a super bright hotspot and throw in excess of 1000 yards. I own the Mega Illuminator and find it to be an amazing light in all ways. I do not own a Maxabeam, but have learned a lot about it.

The Mega would still have less than half the throw of the amazing Maxabeam, but is the best budget thrower I know of, and one of the very few lights I know of that can reach that far. Still, at 1000 yards it would be extremely dim and weak compared to a Maxabeam, and there is a good chance that the Mega Illuminator is not powerful enough to suit your needs. However, the Mega Illuminator is still one of the best throwers currently on the market and is one of the very few lights that can illuminate objects over 1000 yards away.

At 1000 yards the Mega Illuminator can put visible and useful light on an object (IMHO), whereas the Maxabeam would light it up well over twice as brightly and make it much easier to define. If you are not looking for a budget thrower then the Maxabeam is clearly the best choice. There is just no comparison between these two lights in terms of throw.:)

Here are some pictures I have taken:

It runs for well over one hour on a full charge and has both its AC and DC chargers built in.
