10440 light aa size 3.6 volt

can you guys recomend a aa size 10440 light.
i think i have the numbers right.
i'm looking for the 3.6 volt battery light.
i'd love one in the mte ssc single mode.
will that one support the 3.6 volt batt?
is it much brighter?
if not, is there a comparable high quality one that will work for about $20?

Hi Jason, AA=14500, AAA=10440. The only light I have supporting a 14500 is a Jetbeam MKIIx.

AAA sized lights
Anyone kill their L0D-CE with 10440's yet?
You should get L2D CE turbo brightness with the L0D CE high/10440.
The other AAA sized lights limit the current of 10440 to the LED so are not as bright (Huntlight FTA3 & Ultrafire 602c SSC).

AA sized lights
Most of the direct drive lights (won't work with AA) should be as bright as the L0D CE high/10440. According to DX lux numbers the MTE 1AA SSC-P4 is still the hotspot king among pocketable lights (without lumpy heads housing big reflectors).
I bought a L1T v2.0 RB80 yesterday. It holds it's own against my L0D CE/10440. It is clearly brighter than the MTE both spot and spill. As the RB80 is no brighter than the CE the best 1AA sized light might be getting a 1AA tube for your L2D CE.
The AW protected 14500 does not work in my L1T - no nipple in the +ve end. I am not about to get/muck about with magnets.

I thought you got a multi 123A torch lately. If you are stocking up on 123A cells, should also look at the P2D 1x123 Spare Body and Tailcap. Maintains the L2D CE performance in a much smaller package.
