123's on e*aY

Anyone get their 123's fom e*aY? Looks like you can get some good deals but are unsafe and counterfeit cells common? Also spent about two days reading about exploding 123's, not sure if its worth it...Input please.

Why get burnt with Lithium cells of dubious quality, when places like Battery Junction has lithium CR123a from $1.00 each? :thinking:

Yeah, I had got some early on, still working through them. They work fine, but the consequences are high if they fail. I too read about the 123 bombs right after I got mine, I will carefully work my way through them and be done with them. I got some 123s from Battery Station, they have some great prices on better than fleabay batteries.
The whole "mismatched so your light is a pipebomb" thing has got me on a single CR123 ONLY light kick. No 2xCR123 lights.
I'm also carefully testing the RCR123 waters. Quick tip-save your DX money for something else, I got a set of their protected and had to un-protect them as they were too tall for the light. No worries as my LF3XT has built-in voltage report and over-discharge protection.
So if I had any advice to offer I'd say jump right past the fleabay cells to BAttery Station and/or AW.

Forgot to mention I was so taken by the 123 primary thread I have a ZTS Mini coming that should be here on sat. Not perfect but should weed out some problem cells if I have any.
