I have a Lummi enroute to me that includes the little rechargeable, but not a nanocharger. I currently have a charger for RCR123's and for 18650's. Am I going to have to buy another charger or can one of my current ones work with appropriate spacers?

Please assume great ignorance on my part and you won't hurt my feelings with advice

Thanks, Dave

Any other Lummi owners out there?

The way to work out if a charger is suitable for a Li-Ion cell is to look at the output of the charger and the capacity of the cell. If the charger's output is a larger figure than the cell's capacity, it is not suitable.

You do not say what charger you have, but for the sake of argument let's assume it is a WF-139. It has an output of 450mA per bay. The AW 14250 Li-Ion cell which you mention has a capacity of 250mAh.

The charger would therefore be pumping more current into the cell than is safe or good for it. There would be a risk of over-heating and venting.

The Nano-charger would be a safer solution, or any purpose-designed Li-Ion charger that uses the correct CC/CV algorithm and has an output <250mA. Don't try to use a charger that is designed for other chemistries.
