Wolf Eyes Thunder (Beamshots)

Went whitewall hunting with my new toy, and decided to see how it measured up against some of my other EDCs. I will add info to the thread in the next couple of days, but I wanted to get the pics up for those of you who are on the fence on any of these lights.

From left to right: Wolf Eyes 24w Boxer HID, Elektrolumens Tesla-6, Wolf Eyes Thunder, Peak LED First Responder, Tiablo A9S, Tiablo A8 Q5, Surefire U2 and Inova T3

Camera used was a Canon 30D with 24-105 L lens, exposures were set manually at 1/40th of a second @ F/4 for the first shot and 1/320 of a second F/4 to deliberately underexpose the second shot.

I hope Ya'll find the photos informative and entertaining. One thing to note, the A8 Q5 is running on an 18650 cell with about an hour on it and the A9 is running on a set of primaries with less that 20 minutes on them, (fuel to the debate!!)

well the 24w hid still beats the thunder. maybe it's more comparable to the 10w. how many lumens is the 24w hid supposed to have?

i'm a little worried about the quality of the flashlight since the other person in the initial thread is having problems and you mentioned about tweaking something. for the price i think it should work perfectly out of the box since there are cheap multi emitters now for much cheaper.:thinking:

Is it me, or do the A8 and A9 look the same output wise? How do they compare in person?

I doubt that would help. The A9 has a brighter hotspot, because it has one larger/deeper reflector, rather then three smaller ones. I bet the Lux values are much higher on the A9 also.

I'm in the same boat. I know little also, but I'm intrigued by the terrific output and color temp. gostanova, thanks for posting the wallshots. Could you PLEASE take some practical pictures and post them up? I want to see how they light up things.. hallways, objects, etc..

Both new 3xcree Wolf Eyes light are quite floody.
I dont think those shots do justice at all.

By my eye these new lights are putting out ( the front) 350ish.
