Here are the pics of my modified Lenmar MSC1L Li-Ion charger. The pics are bad because the digital camera function on my camcorder is no good. I use this setup to charge 17670 Li-Ion cells. The 17670 Li-Ion cells replace two 123 Li cells in my Surefire L4. This charger will charge a 17670 cell in an hour with cell staying cool while being charged.

I got all the parts from a local electronics store for about $5. I was able to solder wires from the battery holder I made to the charger adapter plate. It turned out great, and was actually very simple!

warning!!!!!!! most camcorder type li-ion chargers depend on the stuff in the pack to terminate charging.bare cells on the lenmar is a bad idea.
the maha c777+2 is safe for bare cells and paralell groups.
many notebook packs have 3 or 4 cells in paralell and several of these groups in series.i would not try unprotected cells in series.

Snakebite, I emailed Lenmar about this and here is their reply, "All of the charge controls are in the charger unit. The board inside the battery pack is for protection, not charge regulation."

I've used the charger about 8 times with no problems so far.

I have a smiliar setup with 1860s cell. I am using a qualcomm charger( $5.00 ) and qualcom pack 1860s($6.00) . I wil post some pictures..
