I would be interested if there are any problems with storing li-ion batteries at high temperatures. I want to keep a spare battery in my car. I suspect the conditions to be (inside the car) 130 deg for 8 hours a day for weeks on end.

Those conditions will very quickly reduce the lifespan of your cells.

If you need to store cells in a car at those temperatures and that length of time, the only cells that can handle that scenario are CR123A primaries and the Energizer Lithium AA & AAA cells.

Store your spare batteries in with your spare wheel ... My spare wheel is under the floor in the car boot (trunk) and is by far the coolest (least warm) place in the car ... Under the front seat is also fairly good.

With an air temperature of about 71 degrees F , the dashboard temperature in the sun can be nearly 150F after a few hours ... The glove box will be nearly 130F under these conditions.

I did a test on this somewhere amongst the threads and was amazed that here in the UK the car interior could get that hot ... I don't know how hot the car interior would be in California as I guess it would be warmer than the UK.

The upper temperature limit for a Lithium primary cell is 140F apparently.

If you were quoting an air temperature of 130F , then the temperature of a black plastic dashboard in full sun is going to be way over that ... I used an infra-red thermometer that had a range of -4F to 428F (-20C to 220C).
