I have a Makita work light with Li-Ion 18 volt batteries and the incan bulb is pretty lame. I've seen PR base LEds rated up to 12 volts but can't seem to find any that will handle 18 volts. Anybody know where something like that might be available? Or perhaps someone can make one...

Terralux previously had a PR base -18Volt LED upgrade-
It was a multi- LED setup-
I no longer see it on their website.

I will post up pics when I get a chance-

FWIW I did do an archive search and found some info about the Terralux but as you said there does not seem to a product available right now...that I can find.

I got a combo-tool kit for Christmas that has a 18V light included. It has the worst bearm I have ever seen, looks like a spiderweb. I ask the same question but no one had info on a drop in replacement. If you find something please let us know, I would really like to get one.

I found the Terralux upgrade once, and you don't want it. It is about 20 tiny little 5mm LEDs all stacked next to each other. Not exactly what I was thinking about now that I've seen P7s and such.

If you look at DX in they're DIY section, they have a emitter that is similar in size and shape to a P7 but runs on 20V. A guy posted pictures of where he put that into his Makita, or another brand, work light. It is very bright, but you need a huge heatsink or a small fan.

The good part is that it doesn't cost more than a P7 :grin2:
