18650 down the handlebars?

It it practical to shove series 18650 Li-Ion batteries down inside a handlebar or up a seattube?

Many e-Bike have their batteries 'down the tube', so I guess it's possible. I Have thought about it, but the thought of having to drill holes in the frame for the wiring kept me away from it.

Batteries do sometimes leak/ overheat/ corrode, so that might be another consideration not to do it :thinking:

I ended up installing the batteries underneat the luggage rack :)
