18650 E-series using a KL4 head

I was given this damaged KL4 head recently. The previous owner tried to crack it open and failed.

While most folks would see this as a paper weight, I saw an opportunity. I removed the damaged ring from the KL4 then made a flashlight body it. I first taped the bezel with masking tape then stuck it in the lathe, centering it as well as I can.


I then carefully removed material from the damaged ring until I could simply peel the aluminum threads off of the remainder of the body.

So, I have this head, but, nothing to attach it to. On to my next project...

The glowing middle section is the play of the light on the knurling.
