1AA headlamps?

The only other 1AA headlamp I know is one sold by Doite here in New Zealand. (probably avail. on the net under some other brand) It ran a 5mm LED at 0.3W and had a lens out front to create a spot beam. I cut off the lens to create a flood output. Bright enough to wander around a campsite or to do cooking, reading etc. Runtime was 10 hr on an alkaline, but you could use nimh and li as well.

It is a reasonable headlamp (certainly not in the same class as a L1D) but I'll pass it on to someone else once the Zebralight arrives.

I remember it been discussed on this forum within the past year. Do a search.

your best waiting for the zebralight... that company actually gets it.... it should be a break through in headlamp design...

Hopefully one of our favorite online light shops becomes a US distributor of the Zebra models

I'll take two of these 1xAA flood monsters...one for the head and one for the hand :)

Zebra looks nice and I'll definitely get one but its all flood. I would like a reflector version 1AA as well. Even a small reflector like on the Fenix LOP would add enough throw to make it a bit more versatile.

More versitale yes, but I feel for a hiking light flood is all you need. Also with the beam shots provided for the zebra light it looks like enough light will be provided for a walk in the woods.
