Help Support Candle Power:

I think you are right. I started playing with it, slo-o-owly rotating tail cap and at one point it lit up. However if I continue to tight it, it will shut off. So now my question is if there is easy way to repair it besides not tightening it all the time?

If playing with the tailcap gets it to light up, then you might have an issue with the switch. If you take the tailcap off and short the battery to the bare part of the threads, does it light up? If so, then the problem is in the tail somewhere. There are two obvious candidates. First, make sure the threads are clean. Use alcohol to clean them off if you don't have anything better. Secondly, check the switch retaining ring. If you look into the removed tail cap, you will see two small indentations. If you insert something into those indentations (tweezers, needlenose pliers, etc), you should be able to turn the retaining ring clockwise to tighten it. Sometimes, these rings work loose causing a bad connection.

Don't give up on that RC-G2 just yet. (Of course, you can always buy another and then you'll have two. That's even better than one!)
