Is there a version of the L2 that can run off a single AA cell? I clicked through all the models on solarforce-usa, but the only thing that looked like a contender was the L2m. Is there an extender for the L2r that you could use instead of the regular tube to get a 1xAA configuration?

There aren't any 1 X AA Solarforce lights that I'm aware of. The L2m can be made to fit a single AA, but, it's so fat that you'd get better results (and less issues locating a drop-in) using an 18500 instead. The L2r is a 2 X AA light. The body is one piece and I'm not aware of any extender being offered to allow 3 X AA. It's been discontinued, BTW, so you'll need to try locating one in the MP.

The L2m fits it but it's tight. It's nice and bright with the low voltage Solarforce drop in. I don't mess with this setup anymore however, an 18350 in the L2m with the XML drop in is a much better setup.
