Hi.
I bought a bunch of these a while back and liked them so well that I
shared them with others, kept 1 for my pocket and 1 spare.
Boy was I dumb.
The pocket one had an accident and got chewed by the snowblower,
and the spare got worn out beyond repair - and I cannot find them
any more !!!

DX has a metalized plastic version that works almost as well, but is
obviously less durable - many variations too, but none made of metal.
Items 5893, 6005. 6022, 6036 are about the same and all cost about
$2 each - but they are really very wimpy and fail quickly in daily use.

Does anyone have a really good source of the real deal - with all 3
parts of HTG metal and the good clicky end switch ?
I would greatly appreciate being able to get some more of these !

Thanks,

mark

Thanks.
The Fenix E01 is not suitable for my personal application because it has a twist switch and I require a clicky switch.
If I found a similar product with the switch I require for approx. 6x what I have been spending I would only want it from a reputable co. with a wicked warranty - otherwise for my abusive use of it the cheapies are best.

Example:
Right now using I can get 10 of the crappy cheapies from Dx for under $20 w/ free shipping, and when they weaken and fall apart in use I scab off the LED modules and circuits from them and re-use those in non-LED lights, so they aren't so bad - BUT:
I'd still love to get a batch of the all-metal ones like I had and prefer.

Best Wishes,

Some time ago I got an Akoray K-102. Its an AAA clickie and now it seems they changed the button and its easier to operate, but you cant tailstand now. I dont know if you need a hole to attach it to a keychain (K-102 doesnt have it).

Just DONT get a Tank 007.

Thanks again. I get over a month of use on a single charge of 1 AAA battery with what I have and this Akoray K-102 gets between 1 - 3 hours total runtime and comes with a pocket clip I'd have to remove.
Still not a suitable replacement.
I really do not want any of these fancy shmancy single LED things - I asked for a referal to what I want, and if it is not anyplace to be found I'll stick with the next closest thing, thanks !

Since you have your heart set on it, how about 5684, not enough details to tell it's even aluminum, it it looks like it.

5LED sure....
1AAA...
why 1AAA?

I'm guessing 5=flood? However i'm not sure any explainations from the OP on any of the reasoning would put my mind at rest. It's probably better not knowing. .... unless maybe he must sacrifice lights to the snowblower or it will bring down the white stuff the likes of which we've never seen... in August... I don't like to anger the gods.

Simple:
5LED sure....
1AAA...
why 1AAA?

It resides in my pocket - I am a night worker & day sleeper and often
enter unlit spaces - it is attached to my keys and this exact size fits
perfectly and does enough to help me get around free of damage.

Bigger/better lights are in my car, my tools and at home.

This need is constant and specific and I use AAA NIMH batteries.

Hokay ?

PS: I happen to get great use, safety and comfort from this 'cheap junk'
for months on end, and if $2 for 6-8 months service is OK with me, why
make me sound like some kind of jerk for it ? I re-use the LED modules
when the bodies fail, so there is little waste.

Thanks.

I emailed DX before and never got an answer on that one - so I emailed
again after your nice reminder.
SKU 5684 looks like a nice unit for me, but if it has a twist switch it is
not going to work out - I must have that clicky switch !!!
