Nice!

What did I buy in 2019? The summer of 2019 was very good for the kings of throw, dedicated throw, and flood. I bought Acebeam K75, because it is the king of dedicated throw. I bought Imalent R90TS because it is the king of power throw, I bought the Imalent MS18 because it is the king of Flood. I bought 3x XHP50.2 47s MMU-X3 Vn because it has lots of lumens for its size, and the beam profile has useful spill combined with reasonable throw.

2019 was a crazy year in flashlights for me, unlikely to ever see such numbers again and I'm OK with that. Definitely my year of flashlights, probably doubled or tripled my collection size with significantly better/ higher quality lights.

Notably a lots of stuff from Vinh @ SkyLumen, quite a few of CRX's pieces, a few Sigma, and a whole bunch of Malkoffs and Surefires. I also bought quite a number of batteries, about $500 worth on black friday.

Listing them all would be crazy. But I have a new found appreciation for not only high quality items like Sigma Custom lights, but also incredibly well made and more-so- properly made devices like Elzetta, Malkoff, and Surefire. The latter three are some of my now most-used lights, even thought they aren't the brightest, smallest, or most complex. In fact I have developed a particular affinity for the classic Surefire 6P with original xenon bulb!

I suspect 2020 will bring me a few more Surefires and a bunch more Malkoffs.

My year would be considered slow for some, good year for others.
I acquired a pair of M361w's in a group buy. A smooth bezel Bravo hi/lo from the WTS section. A Rofis R2 twisty head kit, an 014(?) Jetbeam RRT01 with a red lens cover, a first edition Manker T01, 019 updated Maglite ML25's, ML50's and some updated (with two settings) classic 2D light.
Oh and at a quarter of midnight new years eve pulled the trigger on a Bones so I can add the flood lens and have one as a thrower and the other a flooder.

I picked up a few budget lights here and there as well.

Tac,
I can almost hear the TK76 breathing. A very distinctive light

bykfixer,
It looks like you are at the other end of the buying curve, whereas a couple of years ago, you were on the upswing, now sliding down. Me too!

I didn't buy much this past year. A astrolux FT03, a couple of Convoy S2+, an analyzing charger and some batteries. Oh and a used Eagletac D25CL2. LOL... nothing I needed, but I like to have something come in the mail now and then. :grin2:

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that might incriminate me😁

I gave away most of the ones I bought this year. But when WalMart cleared out the 3 cell Maglite ML50 I bought a few to stash for lights out if need be. I read about Maglite updating the classic 2D with a low and bought one. After discovering low is about 75% of high but increases run time from around 16 hours to around 127, yet I can still see just about as far away I bought two more. The chosen low went over like a lead balloon in the market so I grabbed a couple more while they are still available. Most folks want much lower than 75%. Great work light when I need light all night.

It was probably June before I made my first light purchase in 019.

I forgot, I also scored an early Malkoff MD2 hi/lo with the fixed on Kroll tailcap. It came with an M61NL. Like the Bravo I bought, it sat for days at the WTS section here without selling. Same with the Bones I just bought shortly before the ball dropped.

Surefire U2 Ultra (mod'd)

I miss my U2 Ultra. How specifically was yours modded?

I bought a Fenix TK76 (my grail light) at the beginning of the year and then an Eagletac D25A MKII for Christmas.

I just realized that your second photo must have been taken early in 2019. At first I thought it was a new pic and you were drinking nine month expired Pepsi.

Do we get to see the Eagtac?

I prefer my soft drinks to be aged like a fine bourbon, 6 months isn't quite long enough but 12 is just a shade too long, 9 months is just right 😂.

As for the Eagletac

I have really come to like this light for its size. I had been EDCing a Fenix LD12 2017 for the last 2.5yrs and while it is a small light, the D25A makes it look quite large. I have always liked the UI of the D25A2s I have and when the MKII D25A was released with the same UI, I knew I had to get one.

Nitroz modded it with an XPL-Hi NW @5000k. Nice white tint, very slightly towards the warm side.

I'm loving this light... one of my desired light back in 2005-06.

I actually got this light for something else... more as an 18650 E-series body host. But the more I get to use it with its updated LED, the more I appreciates its qualities.

Got me instead thinking of hunting for another bargain :D

I only bought four lights in 2019. A streamlight protac 90, a Thrunite Catapult V6, a Thrunite TC 20 and a Fenix PD36R. I'm happy with all of them. davemp
