I was recently taking apart car alarm remote controls that I found and there were size 2025 Panasonic batteries in them. So I think they are (20mm diameter and 2.5mm thick) and the 2032 size batteries are (20mm diameter and 3.2mm thick). These batteries are fairly old it seems and I am wondering if I can use them on my desktop computer mainboard instead of the 2032 size battery? Can you recommend a way to test them at all? I have an ohm meter that can do AC and DC testing I believe.

Thanks

Surely for the price of a new 2032 it isn't worth messing about with old throw away batteries??
