Hi - I am thinking about buying a 223 based flashlight. Anybody know of some, and good places to purchase batteries?

223... Aren't those 2 123s bound together? I know Fry's Electronics has some, but a place to get them cheaply... nope.

well, I got some from ebay and a cpfer (StuU).
Both are a better deal than buying 123s anywhere but the lot I got from ebay had discharged cells mixed with good ones...
The ones from StuU were perfect though.

Send a PM to Nerd. He has a bunch of Duracell 223s to sell. This is how they'll look after you strip & separate them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just make surle you use insulated cutters when you do it 'cos you'll see sparks when metal contacts metal in the process /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I recently got an energizer 223 (they call them 2CR5.) I ended up using a hacksaw on the plastic housing...there has GOT to be an easier way...also, when I took the connector strips off they left little pieces of metal on the contacts. Other than that it seems they'd be a decent way to go.

To the best of my knowldege (minimal at best) there are no 223 flashlights, mass produced or otherwise. Are you just after the form factor that would produce? It would make for a nice pocketable light, I think.

And I've never bought any 223 batteries.

Joel
