Ultrafire 502B R2

I did it at last , I swapped the driver out for a SSC P7 MC-E driver . http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDeta...ProductId=1845
I took out the 8.4v 5 mode driver , which was doing 0.81A - o.91A at the tail , and with the new driver its doing 1.31A+ at the tail . [ 18650 ]

Light box readings before were in the 11,000 + lux range , its now doing 14,000+ Lux
Bear in mind , both my Good L2 R2's are in the 12,000Lux area , so the 502B now kicks *** ...

More Power = A simple driver swap , it just means I cant use anything but 18650 batts , not that Im a fan of 2 x CR123 , so no loss .
But a very nice boost in output .
:hitit:

I am a bit confused. Looked at the specs and reviews on the KD website for this driver. One person claims 1.35A, another claims that it works as advertised (2.35A), another 700 to 800mA.

Do you know if there are different versions of this driver and when did you order/receive yours.

Would also like to know how you removed the modes? Did you just rewire or did you remove an IC?

Yeah , it also depends on the Cree LED used .. I had it with a Cree P4 and it delivered 700-800mA
With my MC-E its doing up to 2.35A or around there ... with a single 18650

The driver does not push current , it simply allows current to pass through up to 2.8A ..

So the variables are .. How much current the LED draws , and how much current the battery can deliver .

No mods to driver - its as supplied . I have 3 of these , one with my MC-E , this R2 now , the P4 before and the other will be for a SSC P7

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking for a driver to use with Q5/R2 emitters that can drive 1.2 to 1.3A on a single 18650. Seems like this may just be the one to use.

Notice that that driver only has 3 x 7135 ICs on it and according to me it will max 1050mA.

I have the same one... added a 4th 7135 chip. it does 1350 mah now.
With only 3x7135 ICs its only 1050 at most, KD is over-rating it by a bit.

I can't find much info about this driver, so I'll ask here since it's been mentioned.

Any comments on the performance/features of KD ProductId 1694 (3-mode driver)?
The descrption on the KD site is lacking in details.

I have one on the way to mod a P60 drop-in that will use a neutral white Cree Q3-5C.

Nice :ohgeez:

I hope mine is OK, otherwise it will my one and only order from KD.

I don't need the power of the P7 driver...I'm trying to prevent crispy critter emitters :D
I just want an affordable 3-mode driver without the blinking crap.
