I bought a 16x burner diode from stonetek and my azikiz module. I focused the beam as tight as possible and it isn't making things too hot.

first i tried a black spot on some paper, it didn't feel too hot. i wasn't expecting it to ignite at least feel warm

then i tried a strike on box match and nothing

i have to admit looking at the bounce is pretty damn bright and i'm trying to keep away from that

i'm also using Eneloop's and Duracell AA's, w/ a 2AA Maglite host

any suggestions appreciated

Senkat diodes are rated for around 100mW, not 250mW. Afaik most people run it around 150mW.. Also you need a driver, you will kill it connecting it directly to batteries. You should read on LPF for a lot of good information on how to make a driver and such.
