Hi to all,

My current setup is Leef M-C 2x18650 w/MN11 in a Z48 bezel. It is bright but is it the best setup?

1- is P91 brighter?
2- would the LF bulbs offer better output?

Thanks to all......

Yes, nothing beats the P91 for that battery setup. A few cases though where the lamp has died prematurely.

Nothing to do with rechargables, but I prefer my mn11 to p91. About the same brightness (mn11's a little brighter), but I like the mn11 a little more :)

What about the beam profile. My MN11/Z48 is abit oblong but after awhile it grew on me and I'm liking it. What about the reflectored P91 smae shape as well?

This is exactly what I pondered before I got my Leef 2x18650 C:C set-up with a P91. The MN11 has a nicer beam (slightly) and may throw a little farther. The P91 however has major flood/wall of light, is very bright, and throws just fine. For me it came down to me wanting the most flood I could get. Here are some pluses of each:

P91:
Smaller bezel
Mega flood/good throw
360 lumens at full charge (according to mdocod)

MN11:
Shock-isolated bezel
Good Flood/great throw
360 lumens at full charge (according to mdocod)

Both bulbs may be the exact same bulb with just different reflectors (that's my opinion at least) so do you want to give up the better beam and the shock-isolation of the MN11+bezel for the Mega-flood and smaller size of the P91+bezel? That is the question...

For your #2 question, I believe all of the LF lamps fit the gaps in output in-between the brightness of the P90 and P91, or the MN10 and MN11, and are therefore NOT as bright as the P91 or MN11, although they will offer longer run-times. If you are looking for brighter I don't think any of the LF bulbs will deliver more lumens (in the respective voltage and size) as the P91 or MN11. Perhaps its time for the 3x18650, if you are looking for brighter (or a ROP).

I imagine you have the bezel from the M3 which is the Z46. I have the same setup except with a 2 X 18500 tube. I found the MN11 hot-spot to be too rectangular for me so am using the LF EO-M3. It's run time is greater and I'm sure in most situations you would not be able to notice the reduction in brightness.
I feel the P91 is bright but does not throw as far as the bulbs in the Z46.

P91, MN11, and MN16 are basically same bulb, I'm sure a SF expert will step in and say that SF spent a billion dollars R&D to put specific fill gases and filaments in each lamp, but as far as how it all boils out in the end, they are all a xenon ~6.8V, ~2.5A, ~30 hour, ~400 bulb lumen. On li-ion they become ~7.4V, ~2.65A, ~10-15 hour, ~500+ bulb lumen. So basically just choose how focused you want your beam or how pocketable you want the bezel to be.

I'm a Wolf Eyes man; strictly incan. I also favor flood, so there's one irereplaceable Surefire product in my arsenal: the P91. Sometimes it's my EDC, in a 2x168A Wolf-Eyes Sniper (extended).

Paul, two WE 18500 fully charged to 4.21-4.23 volts, will they blow a P91 in a WE Raider ?

LED, I can tell you that 2 fully charged (4.20V) and hot off the charger 18650s will not blow a P91 so I doubt if 2 18500s at 4.21-4.23 would either, although I can't say for 100% certainty.

No. I run with 168As hot off the charger. I've never heard of a P91 hot-flashing from a pair of lithium-ions. Maybe two C-cized Li-ions would do it, but no one I'm aware of makes a body that can take two C li-ions and a P91.

In my experience the P91 seems to draw about 100-150mA more current than the MN11, but I suppose that could be attributed to differences in batteries and the lamp assemblies themselves.

I am a D26 type of person so I don't know much about the other type of bulbs but I must say that the P91 lamp is my favourite Surefire D26 lamp. It has a good combination of throw and flood and has a home in my Leefbody 2x 18650. Can't go wrong with this one, btw I have a EO-9 in my "Super Sniper" 2x 18650 outfit, this one has longer run time but not as floody as the P91.

Its quiet down now.....still haven't seen the new tubes with knurling...One thing though, need to get apart from the system, batts and charger also....it may prove to be quite an investment.

On Deal Extreme I saw they have lithium C's now, though they are unprotected and thus shorter than AW's, so might not fit the big Leef. They also mentioned having a charger for them soon.

Either way, the big Leef system seems pretty cool. MN61 run off of 2 AW "C" lithium Ions.. talk about a compact photon cannon that's rechargeable too!

I hope he makes some more C-C and C-M bodies, those things are really popular.

I have a Leef CC 2x18500 body powering a WA1111 bulb in a Fivemega ceramic holder. Smolderingly bright output in a super small package. Very eye-popping.
