there is so many 3/5 watter in the market, which is good, value for money, quality, output, runtime?
some kind soul give me a over view?
been away for long, lost touch.

I hear good things about the Nuwaii Quantum-III - which can generally be had for around $50 US. All reports I read indicate excellent build quality and output. Runtime is about average for single 123-powered 3W lights.

The Quantum III is pretty good, as I can vouch from experience with mine, though there's alzo the Zorch which is coming out later from Elektrolumens, which has a twist on-off function, a feature sorely lacking from the Nuwai. The battery life on that one's rated around an hour, estimated, though the Nuwai doesn't get that much more - 1:40 till half-power, and then an hour or so later for the rest, according to Craig's test.

Otherwise, if they straighten out the L2's states at Surefire (we've seen three different specs from three different people there), that might be an idea for runtime. It is, however, not very compact. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you want the Nuwai Q3, look for MorganchOh also from Singapore, he have them for I think S$75/- each.

I just picked up a Q3 and it ROCKS! Beautiful white beam, great clickie switch and cool machining. This is a reflectored 3watt Luxeon light and for $50 plus an $8 donation to CPF, what's not to like? It ships from Asia and I got mine in less than a week. Thank you CPF and Morgan!

Another vote for the Nuwai Quantum III.
Very nice little 3 watt Luxeon LED flashlight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Battery life for a 1xCR123A 3 watt LED flashlight isn't that bad either.
Runs for 1 hour 40 minutes to 50% intensity, and 3 hours 30 minutes overall (to 1.5% intensity).

I'll add another vote for the Nuwai QIII. I couldn't be happier with the light -- and the price. Go to the B/S/T forum, where a number of folks are selling. I got mine from Warren (aka ViKi). Three days shipping from Korea.
