I ordered a metal reflector from kaidomain and thought id try one of those 3aa adapters that they sell for dirt cheap. I fit them in but the light wont go on. Im wondering if anyone has had that problem. I think it may be that the positive end may be too flat and not be contacting, any ideas on how to make it work?

I got home around 1am from a party and didnt ahve a chace to fiddle with it too much....

Try using a spacer of some sort .... normally a magnet with a non-conducting
washer around it.

If you are using it in a Mag, the positive contact spring sits in a recess in the bottom of the switch. The protruding button on a regular cell can compress the spring over time so that it wont stick out far enough to contact the flat top on the adapter. If you remove the switch assemble, you can stretch the spring back out far enough to make contact.

Another solution, which was shown by Wquiles, was to use a lathe and flatten
the recess in the switch.
If you dont have a lathe, use a hacksaw and a file ..... thats what I did
(Magnets are easier :D )

now that you mention it, i did peek inside the light and it seemed like the spring was recessed in there? I will try that tonight, then on to the magnets. Thanks for all the help guys.:thumbsup:
