Hello everyone!
I've managed to get a 3D body for a future P7 mod, it's not M@g but looks similar. That's my first mod so I don't have too much experience
Now I'm searching for a suitable driver and I've noticed that the input voltages for those are either up to 5 V or 5-14 V. I'm looking at DX or Kai drivers.
First i was thinking to go with 9 AA with KD Super Output SSC P7 LED Driver Board (Low/High/Middle,5.5V~15V) SKU: S005296
But I understand that on high voltages it goes very hot and it's not so efficient.
In conclusion, should I go for a 3D setup with a low voltage input driver or a 9aa setup ?

AA-rechargeable 2500mA NiMh. 9 will output 10.8 V
For D either cheap cells or rechargeable, so the driver should handle anything from 3 to 5 V.

I you have a driver option that will run well on the ~3.6V of 3D NIMH cells, then that is the best way to go, as 3D size NIMH cells will have quite a bit more energy storage than 9AA cells. If you need the higher input voltage to get a regulated setup with the options available, then you may sacrifice total energy storage for the higher input voltage... just depends what you want to do I guess... I haven't researched much into P7 builds.
