You sure can.

I think you can Direct Drive the 3 of these in parralel and they should all feed off a single IMR 26650.

I believe it has been done in the German equivalent forum. If I'm not mistaken, the parts were soured from cutter electronics. They have a triple on PCB that fits perfectly

there is no tribble board available at cutter. maybe you mean the quad xp-g board? i think this fits perfectly inside the head. but you still need a lathe to make a heatsink for yourself.
there is also a fivemega 26650 host out. on this a cryos head fits perfectly (i have such a combination). i think this will be the best setup for a 26650 battery with very good thermal management.

Shouldn't one XM-L enough for this little thing?
Three XM-Ls would be impossible to cool down with this body.

I would rather be investing my time in pushing the sst90 harder then to put 3x xm-l in there 🙂.

hi xed888, you are right. there is a tripple board out. but this is serial you still need to modify. by the way, i have no access to the selling platform of the taschenlampenforum without registration. maybe i will give them a try (i am also german).

@epsilon: there was some direct drive tests here done with the maelstrom. after all only the first seconds or minute there was more output then the stock s12. so this will be no option. there is no boost driver that can output such current needet for the sst90. the easyer way will be 3-xml. they have a much lower vorward voltage and a better efficiency.
