Re: 4sevens Quark Mini Tint Options: A Quick Look.

Thanks Craig for the shot of the P60 and the Quark Mini123 with whitebalance set at 3200K. The whitebalance used in the previous outdoor shots had me nervous but this shot makes me feel a little better.

Re: 4sevens Quark Mini Tint Options: A Quick Look.

Is the warm less efficient than neutral (lumens per watt wise)?

Re: 4sevens Quark Mini Tint Options: A Quick Look.

that is correct. beamshots taken @ 3200K coming up (indoor)

GarageBoy: No, this warm emitter is actually more efficient since it is an XP-G vs the XP-E of the neutral.
(somebody please correct me if i'm wrong)

Craig thanks for taking shots at 3200k. These look so much more like what it appears to the eye!

Even at 3200K, I still think the neutral looks more natural than the warm.
I look forward to seeing my warm sample in real life, and comparing it to my neutral and cool samples. It will be educational.

And wow, that Nichia....

what is the tint of the neutral white? is it near 5000K or 4000K temps?

Thanks for the pics csshih.

I hope the neutral white version is R4. As for the warm white one, It is probably Q5, which is of the highest efficacy in warm white XP-Gs.

How far of from the XP-E Q3 5A3 is the XPG neutral and warm?

Interestingly enough, my cool white QMiNi AA looks closer to the neutral white image than it does the cool white.

Re: 4sevens Quark Mini Tint Options: A Quick Look.

From what I read, the review units provided to Craig were XP-G Neutrals, which are not for sale at this time.

So are XPG neutral LEDs to be expected from 4Sevens sometime in the near future?

don't forget about natural tint variation, and the camera's inability to capture color the exact same way we would see it.

Probably no guarantee ( I assume ). I'm also guessing that 4sevens is seeing how well the warms as selling first.

I bought a Quark AA neutral white Q3 5A when 4Sevens had a limited edition run a while back.

Would you expect any visual difference between that and the XPG neutral white?

Also, I have a Liteflux LF2XT which I like the tint a lot. I think it is a neutral white as well, but it is more creamy yellow (Quark AA is pinkish), more like natural sunlight. How does the XPG neutral compare with LF2XT? I don't suppose the XPG warm tint would be closer to it?

TIA

the XP-G will have a floodier beam than the XP-E. I think the neutral is whiter than the LF2XT. I no longer have that model to compare with, though.
