WARM tints from 4sevens is now available.
I have been waiting for 4sevens to release again their neutral tints but I waited long enough and just purchased several lights and a romisen RC29 neutral from shining beam. I'm now over the budget and still thinking of buying one, I also thought of getting the Fenix TK20. Man...:candle:

Jeez, what's the point of being on their mailing list at all? I never get the email about stuff like this until several days after the fact, and by then all you jerks on CPF have bought 'em all up! :D

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

Ha! This is too funny!

I went over to the 4sevens site just now and my eyes just about popped when I saw that they're offering WARM white models, not neutral!

I scanned the list of options.... 2x123A, Turbos, 2AAs, and MINI's!!!

YESSS!!!

What makes it really fitting is that today at lunch I was scanning through Cree's website looking at the XPG specs, and I thought "Gee, I wonder what those warm white leds look like" because I've never seen one in person.

Then along comes this release of WARM 4sevens lights! Perfect! :D

As soon as I saw the Warm Mini was available for pre-order I jumped up and grabbed my credit card. My attitude towards the new lights coming out lately has been kinda bleh, but I'm pumped up about this one!

C'mon people, order up! The Mini is only $37, not even counting the discount! How can you NOT do it? ;)

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

I look at the website and see "pre-order", not torches in stock for sale. Is this pre-order arrangement a common practice for US retailers?

Does the retailer wait until enough pre-order dough comes in before they pay the supplier for the goods thus meaning that pre-order customers are advance funding stock aquisition? How does this all work?

Are people generally happy to stump up funds weeks or possibly months in advance of dispatch?

You'd be surprised! :D

I've never done the pre-order thing before, just personal preference I normally don't care for it, but at 37 dollars for the Mini I couldn't resist. There's more info in the thread on the CPF Marketplace site.

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

Yes, we are very happy to do so.

When the Vendor is Trustworthy and Reliable as 4Sevens has proven to be.

:twothumbs

Way to Go, 4Sevens ! ! !

:wow::goodjob::thanks:

Thanks mate.

It's morning here so my brain wasn't fully engaged and it hadn't yet clicked that there'd be the usual product announcement on the marketplace. I've just been over there and read the spiel and I can now see what 4sevens is up to in regards this one. They seem to be up front about it and I can see that they've formulated a way for those that say they'd buy warm whites to actually put the money where the mouth is so it all makes sense to me now.

This is a special offering, and the terms are for a reason.

This is an uncommon tint color offered to buyers who want it. There is no way to safely estimate the number of orders so this is a vote with your CC offer.
The offer allows us to order any of 10 different models, but they will not even be made unless a model reaches 150 orders placed.
Maybe only 1 or 2 of the 10 will actually go into production.
Those that don't have orders for 150 units will not be assembled, and no CC charge would be made.

Some people will jump in because it is so hard to get this tint at a good price. They might just get lucky if enough others want the same light.

If 4 sevens gets orders of 50-75 units spread out over all the models, I wonder if he will just offer Quark heads regular and tactical unattached to bodies??

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

As it has already been stated, it is warm-white not neutral.
3100K CCT is plenty warm.

I wonder if there will be a stream of doctors pre-ordering the Preon2?

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

4 sevens comes through again! Thanks for the heads up just pre-ordered a CR2. lovecpf

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

Thanks for the tip.

I've already got a CR123 Tactical neutral, and a 2 x AA tube.

The CR123 x 2 Tactical Warm sure looks interesting. I was just about to stop worrying about the lack of a low mode and pull the trigger on an ET P100C2 neutral white, but now I'm thinking maybe I should put in my pre-order for one of these.

Are there another 149 CPF's who're with me??????

Don't worry. I am with you on the 123x2 Tactical. Ordered a MiNi 123, MiNi AA, and MiNi CR2 as well.

So we have another 148 to go on the 123x2 Tactical.

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

This thread makes me sad, I know I'm going to have to pre-order something. Now will it be my first cr123 or another AA, it's just a pity there are no 1xAA on offer.

Might not be the best place to ask, but based on their size how easy is it to operate the mini cr123 one handed?

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

it's extremely easy to operate the aluminum mini 123 one-handed.

i hate cool white and own only neutral white lights, but have never had a warm white before...

pre-ordered a warm mini cr2

I have a Mini AA and a Mini 123, and both operate smoothly and easily one handed. No problems whatsoever. You won't be disappointed.

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

But still after looking at the battery requirement, it seems that all that take 1 AA or 1 CR123 couldn't take rechargeable, only primaries are allowed. Am I reading this correct ?

1 AA can only take 1 AA primaries / NiMh (1.5 v max), not 1x14500
1 CR123 can only take 1 CR123 (3v max)

but :
The one using 2 CR123 (3.0-9.0v) so it can use 2 RCR123 or 1x18650.
The one using 2 AA (0.9-4.2v) so it can use 2 AA or 1x14500 or 1x18650)

Please correct me if I'm wrong

It is a different kind of business model to be sure. I will not play and waited until it was in stock before placing a order with them.

Re: 4sevens Neutral tints is out...

I'm fine with it, and will pre-order. Generally it's a way of better estimating demand... if you make a whole bunch of expensive lights and nobody buys 'em, it's obviously bad. Pre-order lets me tell the retailer "yes, I'm REALLY serious about wanting this light." There's always some margin of extra product they make, but pre-order is common, accepted, and helps keep our vendors efficient and thus our prices down.
