I know it sounds too good to be true, but a high tech company with a great reputation is running an engineering proof of concept. They're testing a new technology in a consumer product. They're hoping the technology might be used in future products. The engineering costs, materials, production, testing, etc. will cost a fortune, but if you're willing to subsidize a small part of the project, they'll let you keep one of these awesome prototype flashlights. It will only cost you $500. The flashlight is made of titanium, it has a variable output from about 1 lumen to 65, nice smooth white beam, fits in your coin pocket, and it looks really cool. Hurry, they're only letting the first 1000 people participate!

Looking at it that way, it's a bargain for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! I'm just so SOOOOOoooo tired of hearing people who have no interest in this flashlight whine whine whine about the cost.
